Choir Leading

Choir leading is the best job in the world.

I lead Sydney Alterna Choir on Thursday evenings with Naomi Cooper. Alterna is a non-auditioned a capella choir based in Newtown builds from a solid foundations of good times and excellent tea selections. We also run Sing Summits together - relaxing singing weekends designed for singing and gently ambling up the mountain of song.

I’ve led and helped others to lead choral workshops for amateur singers and community choirs in Australia and the UK as part of the Spooky Men’s Chorale, the Sofa of Fools, and independently. Since the pandemic this has included running/assisting with online choirs, including Sydney Alterna Choir, Stephen Taberner’s Massive Singlet and guesting on James Sills’ Sofa Singers.

Arranging

I love finding and (particularly) arranging music to suit a choir’s needs - arranging is my first love. I frequently arrange for choirs I lead and ensembles I’m involved with, and would love to arrange for you as well!

A capella arrangements of up to five parts are my wheelhouse, but I’m happy to arrange for any combination of singers or instruments.
